MERIT is an Education Services program in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) dedicated to supporting the FHS departments and programs in advancing health professions education scholarship.
The McMaster Education Research, Innovation and Theory (MERIT) Program
has served the Faculty of Health Sciences for more than 45 years. We
collaborate with faculty to engage in high-impact, high-value education
scholarship. Our vision is to grow a community of scientists and
clinicians to advance health professions education through research and
applied science.

Appointments
A warm welcome to Dr. Renate Kahlke as she recently joined the Division of Education and Innovation.
Dr. Renate Kahlke was recently appointed Assistant Professor (CLA), Division of Education and Innovation, Department of Medicine.
Dr. Kahlke earned a PhD in Education Policy Studies at the University of Alberta and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES), University of British Columbia. She has continued to build her research program as a Research Associate at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Kahlke has 12 peer reviewed manuscripts and book chapters. Since completing her PhD, she has published 7 papers in major peer reviewed journals.
